About me
Improvising and playing. Smearing, tearing, undoing and redoing. That's my creative process and my way of painting.
Hello! My name is Fermín Urdánoz Perú, I was born in Pamplona (Spain), where I currently live.
My entire professional career has always been linked to artistic creation, developing projects in various disciplines such as art direction, graphic design, illustration, and, of course, drawing and painting.
My work has been exhibited in different places such as Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Granada, Vitoria and Pamplona.
In September 2023 I was hired by the Pamplona City Council to carry out a portrait live to the Kings of Spain during his visit to the city for the centenary of the Privilege of the Union.
I experiment with different materials to generate forms where the figurative blends with abstraction.
The creative process plays a fundamental role in my work. I enjoy creating in an impulsive and gestural way. I place great importance on improvisation. In this way, the spontaneous blends with the accidental, producing unexpected and surprising results. The different elements of painting flow together, creating compositions that combine the freshness of powerful and expressive strokes with accidental marks.
I love discovering the great expression that simple lines splashed with paint can take on.
